I have worked with Richie in the past at previous weddings he played at, so it was a total honour and pleasure to be asked to capture his own wedding to his gorgeous bride Eirian.
Eirian's Welsh roots lead us to the majestical venue of Margam Castle, set in beautiful grounds it is a fairytale backdrop and location for any wedding. Wanting it to be unique Eirian became one of the first brides to get married, not in the Castle itself but in the ruins in the grounds, I'm sure after such a wonderful setting there have now been plenty more who wish to get married here.
I love capturing bridal prep and being around all the excitement build up and this wedding was no different, full of fun and laughs as Eirian got ready with the help of Sian Driscoll, part of Janet White-Ashby & co on the make up and hair, surrounded by her bridesmaids and brothers we all had such a fun morning and Eirian looked absolutely stunning in her gown by Erica Stacey Couture! I also made a short trip to the groom prep to capture some of Richie getting ready in Eirian's family home surrounded by family and friends.
The ceremony was held outside in the ruins of Margam Castle. The ancient stone walls provided a stunning backdrop for the beautiful service, with the lush greenery of the surrounding gardens adding a touch of natural beauty. A very talented family with Eirians brothers singing for the guests during the service, there was even a song from Pokemon in there! Everything about this wedding was unique to Eirian and Richie and it was such an honour to be part of it all.
Guests were entertained by one of Richies talented music friends Dan Pye during the drinks reception which was held outside the Orangery, everyone had a fabulous time in the sun! I whisked the couple away for a brief moment to grab some gorgeous couple shots and then back to enjoying themselves with their party before they headed in for their wedding breakfast.
The reception was held in the Orangery itself, with gorgeous natural light filling the room, we enjoyed speeches from the father of the bride, the groom and even the bride herself stood up and said a few words, the best man was Richies young son, who saved his speech for the evening when everyone was there, a slideshow presentation which was equally hilarious as it was emotional, he certainly did his dad proud!
The meal was full of surprises with Richie doing what he does best entertaining his guests and very excited bride with his music, the room just filled with excitement and it was so lovely to see the high energy Richie brings radiate through his own party. If you are looking for a musician for your party I highly recommend!
After the very important best man speech the band The Craic Inn played for the evening party and the day ended on such a high, the same as it started really, great vibes all round and the most amazing, magical day for this gorgeous pair! A shoutout to Hire Frequencies too who provided the stage set up, lights and sound.
Can we do it all again?!
